Northwood Perspective – Spring 2017
2017 has been a busy year so far for us at Northwood. In this quarter’s edition of the Chairman’s message, I discuss the takeaways from my recent trip to Japan for our bi-annual family office association meeting, and how the winds of change are blowing.
Eric Weir writes a piece on why we don’t engage in macro investing at Northwood, Barrett Lyons provides a thorough recap of the March federal budget, and Dan Solomon covers the differences between time-weighted and money-weighted investment returns. Finally, Scott Hayman does a ten year flashback to an article he wrote for the 4th edition of our newsletter (way back in Spring 2007) about his visit to his daughter’s Grade 1 class and their discussion about money.
We hope you find our newsletter valuable and, as always, we look forward to your comments and feedback.
