Office Manager & Executive Assistant

Elana Kimel

Elana is a member of Northwood’s operations team. As Office Manager, she ensures the smooth day to day operations at Northwood through a range of administrative, financial and managerial tasks.


No two days are alike, and she has the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects, and interact with many different people. As Executive Assistant, Elana supports the Chairman and the President in their daily roles. Prior to joining Northwood, Elana managed a private medical imaging clinic in downtown Toronto. Before that she was Executive Assistant to the Registrar and CEO of an Ontario regulatory body. She also lived in Los Angeles, California for a few years where she completed her post-graduate studies and worked as an Associate Buyer for the 99c Only stores.

Elana has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Society from York University in Toronto, Canada. She also has an Associate of Arts degree in Merchandise Marketing from FIDM in Los Angeles, California. Throughout her undergraduate career, she volunteered at The Common Table Soup Kitchen in the Church of the Redeemer. She also spent nine years as an after-hours special needs caregiver, implementing a high level of individual care, attention, creative-planning and problem-solving, while assisting with homework, social activities and daily routines.

In her spare time, Elana enjoys baking and trying daring new recipes. She also enjoys spending time with her dog, art, travel and watching movies that put her brain to work, like documentaries and mysteries.
