What do you do at Northwood?

I am the Principal, Marketing and Communications on the family office advisory team at Northwood. My job is to tell our Northwood story through marketing and communications by developing and executing strategic marketing and communications plan and client development.

What surprised you the most since you've been at Northwood?

I’ve worked in finance for a while (don’t look up my age), both on the operational/business and the marketing areas. I can say with confidence that the differentiating factor is how well the Northwood team knows not only the leader parents of a family but also every generation of that family. The team knows our clients so well including news of new grandchildren, university choices and wedding plans. The concept of legacy is apparent in how we operate, both in terms of transferring wealth through generations (and all the important next steps) and helping everyone thrive together as a family.  We offer a truly comprehensive perspective and paint a clear picture and connect all the dots for our families.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

My favorite movie/tv shows were the Craft and Bewitched, so originally I wanted to be a witch, but that seemed unachievable. I then wanted to be a veterinarian since I love animals, but my dream was crushed when I realized I didn’t have the heart to constantly see sick animals.

What is a fun fact about you?

I danced with the Canadian Ballet Theatre, and went to a school for the arts in Toronto growing up.

What are your favourite things to do outside of work?

I have a hard time sitting still so anything active. I really like tennis, skiing, volleyball, and cooking, I fly my husband's plane from time to time and love taking family trips with the kids.

What’s one of your favorite travel destinations?

I recently travelled to the south of France, and loved it. Here are some of my favorites culinary stops along the way.
