Northwood Women’s
Network: Where Ambition
Meets Opportunity

At Northwood Family Office, we believe that advancing gender equity is essential to the future of the Family Office industry. That’s why we launched the Northwood Women’s Network, to create space for women to lead, grow, and thrive both within our firm and across the industry.
This commitment not only shapes our internal culture, but it also directly enhances how we serve our clients. Diverse teams bring empathy, insight, and broader perspectives to every relationship, helping us better understand and meet the needs of the families we work with.

What We Know

The data tells a compelling story that gender equity isn’t just a social imperative, it’s a

1. Financial industry
2. Wealth transfer
3. Investor confidence
4. Client benefits
5. Corporate performance

Financial industry

Women are underrepresented in the financial industry: only 15-20% of financial advisors are women.1

Together, these insights make one thing clear: advancing gender diversity in the Family Office space isn’t just about equity; it’s essential for our growth, our culture, and how we serve our clients.

Wealth transfer

In Canada, it is expected that women will control close to $4 trillion in assets by 2028, almost double what they controlled in 2023.2

Investor confidence

Research shows women investors report significantly lower confidence than men across key areas: long-term market opportunities, investment knowledge, and decision-making ability.3

Together, these insights make one thing clear: advancing gender diversity in the Family Office space isn’t just about equity; it’s essential for our growth, our culture, and how we serve our clients.

Client benefits

Teams with greater gender diversity tend to communicate more effectively and better understand client needs.4

Corporate performance

Companies in the top quartile for gender diversity on executive teams were 39% more likely to outperform their industry peers on profitability than those in the bottom quartile.5
