Eric Weir leads Northwood Family Office with a clear purpose: to provide direction, perspective, and confidence to families of wealth. As CEO and President of Canada’s leading multi-family office, Eric oversees a dedicated team that delivers integrated planning, investment management, wealth administration, and family engagement for affluent families.
Eric joined Northwood in its early days and played a key role in building its foundational infrastructure. As one of the first employees, he started his career at Northwood with a focus on client-facing work while also supporting areas of the operations of the firm. He later joined the executive leadership, helping guide the firm alongside Northwood’s co-founders. Over the years, he has built lasting relationships with many families, some of whom he has worked with for nearly two decades.
Now, as the next generation of leadership steps forward, Eric is energized by the firm’s momentum and leading position in Canada. He is excited to work with a growing and talented team, which he believes is one of the strongest in the country.
Professionally, Eric is most proud of Northwood’s near-perfect client retention rate and the relationships he’s built over two decades in the family office space. He finds fulfillment in watching colleagues grow their careers and in working with families with to solve complex opportunities and challenges.
Outside of work, Eric leads an active lifestyle. In the winter, he’s often found at the hockey rink, playing three times a week. He enjoys cycling and spends much of his summer at the cottage with his daughter.
