In "Northwood Around the World", we showcase some of the captivating destinations visited by Northwood team members.

Location: Italy
On a recent two-week trip, I had the chance to experience the best of Italy’s vibrant cities, coastal charm, and world-famous cuisine. Starting in Rome and ending in Venice, each destination had its unique beauty and food that I’ll never forget.
Rome: History and Traditional Cuisine
Our trip began in Rome, the heart of Italian history and culture. We visited the famous Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Trevi Fountain, and it felt as though we had stepped back in time. We spent our evenings walking through all the piazzas (with a spritz in hand) and tasted our best carbonara ever! And of course, ended every day with a a new gelato flavour.
Amalfi Coast: Coastal Beauty
From Rome, we headed south to the Amalfi Coast. We took the iconic Vespa ride around the coastline and saw the most incredible views the Amalfi had to offer. Here we spent our time exploring the uniqueness and popularity of all the lemon streets, shops, and of course, limoncello!
Sardinia: Iconic waters and seafood
After the Amalfi Coast, we flew to Sardinia for (my favourite) five days. Sardinia’s beaches, with their white sand and crystal-clear waters, were nothing short of perfection. We rented a boat and got a beautiful view of Cala Goloritzé. Lunches and dinners always consisted of the restaurant's catch of the day, which never disappointed.
Florence & Tuscany: Countryside Charm
Leaving the coast, we traveled to Florence. We strolled across the Ponte Vecchio and climbed to the top of the Duomo for a panoramic view of the city’s iconic red rooftops. We made our way over for a 3-night stay in Tuscany. It allowed us to enjoy the rolling vineyards and wine tastings in Chianti, paired with hearty dishes like pappardelle with wild boar ragu, all based on local recommendations
Lake Garda: A Picturesque Lake
Before our final stop, we spent a few nights in Lake Garda. We rented a boat and docked to explore charming lakeside towns, with Limone sul Garda being the most memorable. We enjoyed fresh lake fish, a creamy pesto, and burrata pasta, and had our favourite limoncello spritz of the trip.
Venice: A Dreamlike Ending
Our trip ended in Venice, where I fell in love with the city of love. With over 27,000 steps, we spent our time getting lost in all the winding alleyways, exploring St. Mark’s Basilica, and enjoying the Venetian culture and food. It was the perfect ending and send-off from Italy.
A Trip to Remember
From history, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable food, our two-week trip to Italy gave us a taste of everything. Each region brought something different to the table, and there were no bad meals. It’s a trip I’ll always remember and one I’d recommend to anyone dreaming of Italy!
