Northwood Volunteers at The Yonge Street Mission
On Friday December 15, we shut down the Northwood offices and all headed to Yonge Street Mission for a day of volunteering. The day started with unloading a truck filled with frozen meats and canned goods, progressed to sorting and organizing these supplies, and culminated in giving away holiday provision packs to some families in the community. The experience was humbling, but also rewarding, and it gave all of us a chance to reflect on how tough it can be for some families to afford food in Toronto. The picture below shows all of us holding some of the supplies we handed out that day.The Yonge Street Mission has been helping Torontonians from every walk of life to rise out of poverty since 1896.
